A paperboard foundation box itself should not be considered leakproof. The primary container and its closure system contain the liquid foundation. Secondary packaging can, however, keep the container stable, reduce unnecessary movement, maintain an appropriate orientation, and prevent the carton or insert from continuously pressing against pumps and closures. For products with a higher leakage concern, we consider the complete bottle + closure + internal fit + box structure rather than simply increasing board thickness. SBS Paperboard: A smooth, white paperboard suitable for high-quality printed cosmetic folding cartons. Kraft Paperboard: Suitable where a natural paper appearance is preferred and compatible with the required artwork. How to Choose the Right Foundation Box Start with the product, not the box design. For a lightweight tube or foundation stick, a fitted folding carton may be sufficient. A glass pump bottle may require a stronger board, a secure bottom, and internal stabilization. A compact foundation needs a wider, flatter structure, while a foundation set may require a tray or multiple fitted compartments. How to Measure Foundation for a Custom Box Do not select box dimensions based only on product volume, such as 30 ml. Two containers holding the same volume can have very different external dimensions.
